Roy Buchanan - Sunshine Of Your Love
He doesnt even know the song
I used to go see Roy down at My Mothers Place in DC back in the early 70s & man that man could play guitar like the pro he was & we still miss that greatness he had.
I'm so pissed that I'm 50 and just now discovered this master of the Guitar 🤯🤯
To me, no one even comes close to this mans talent. Any style, any tempo, electric, acoustic. He could do it all, well !
He makes Clapton's version look lame
Is there any style of music this man can't play well? Damn ! He's playing the woman in the video's panties right off.
Is that Vince Santoro on drums? Whoever it is, he really holds his own next to Roy Buchanan and Carey Ziegler!
master of the blues
Anybody know the names of the other two players? Is this that venue up near Columbia MD where Roy often played?
This is at Josephs Floodliner in San Antonio Texas, as far as the drummer and bassist i couldnt tell ya their names
After listening to Roy, I can certainly see why Jimi didn't accept Roy's challenge to battle him on the guitar.
Les Paul said that "Roy doesn't know any limits on the guitar". I think he was rite.
Where was this?
Damn!
My general observation/conclusion: Roy was another guy with talent but no clear vision about what to do with it. And he’s not the only one. We all think that because someone is talented, they are also good at managing themselves, and that is far from true both personally and professionally. Great talents need to be managed, the same with sports figures. If it wasn’t for good coaches getting on the “stars” and instilling the virtues of what it takes to be great, they’d mostly all self destruct. The evidence is everywhere. Some people need a firm hand to guide them so they don’t trip over themselves due to myriad outside influences that are ruinous.
Great tune
I think I heard Clapton talked him into going mainstream with his thank God & Roy for his major heavy contribution. Checks out hot wires
Check out "You're not alone", that entire album kicks ass.
Beste !!! Da nützt auch keine Wortklauberei !!
That bend at 1:24 is out of this world. An astoundingly brilliant guitarist!
Someone said to Roy, "You are the best. Roy replied that no one is the best. But Roy was making wa wa sounds years before a wa wa was invented. He was playing incredibly well in the 50s. I saw him at least 15 times. To me, he was one of the best ever. He would show up and plug into a small amp that was on a folding chair. Then, they would put a microphone in front of the amp . That was it. Then he would play his ass off. R I P Roy.
Dynamite cut. Who is this drummer,?
Those “drunk old people” paid money to see him. They are in their own right.
No Commentar. Best Guitare Player ever
Thanks for this archival video.
Saw him Twice in Melbourne my Favourite Blues Guitar playing so sad Roy Rest in Guitar Heaven
thumbs up whenever I see a Roy video. In some ways, I like this even better than his non-stop searing Hey Joe type solos. This frames his fantastic playing without ever leaving the clear structure of the song.
Privileged to have seen him play twice live in NYC
This guy was better than Jeff Beck!
Ich bin sprachlos. Eines der besten Gitarrenspieler der Welt. Da hilft auch keine Wortklauberei
He was a master guitar player of unbelievable talents.
Bluesnisimo. Roy sunshine. Happy day Happy life.
Saw him many times..RIP
RIP = Rejoycing in Paradise!

I watched a documentary about Roy. It was so sad to see when he finally got recognition it already didn't matter anymore for him. Rest in Peace Roy. 1 of the Goats.❤
Sounds bad. Out of tune and pointless noise!
My buddies are the 2 guys center stage on the back cover in the seats of the live stock album! Best ever!
And up pops another gem! /:-)
Just when you think you've heard everything there is to hear, up pops a gem you've never heard before. Can't say enough good things about Roy. Thanks, Snake. /:-)
No one can make a guitar sing or cry like Roy did.
The immortal Roy Buchanan. He set the standard for the guitar player. He was unequalled creating bends and swells like no one else.....didnt use gimmicks or aides.... Just two hands and one guitar one amp. Like his soul took over crying to the Heavens. Roy left us too early .....so damn sad. Just listen to him play. A true Wizard 😊
Don't forget the volume and tone controls on the guitar. /:-)
Roy is UNREAL.........I once heard the Rolling Stones wanted him to join......
Oh, my God.
More is Not possible ❤🎉
I just read some magazine's list of the "45 Greatest Guitar Player's Who Ever Lived". No mention of Roy, but Taylor Swift was on there lol
Your the best
Way to go
Fabulous!
ua-cam.com/video/3K_F-3W3qks/v-deo.html Listen to these guys cover of Hot Cha...Pretty dam good! Very Cool
I saw Roy in 1977 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. He was amazing. Too bad they did not have the organ going in this great tune. Just listen to Roy Buchanan's Live Stock version of Hot Cha. Infuckingcredible, If that is a word.
I love both Jeff and Jimmy's version of this song, but to me this version is better. They say when he played at the Crossroads, they always had to make space in the late set for all the local musicians to come see Roy after they were finished with their own sets. Just imagine how many young guitar players he must had had an influence on. A true legend.
